CODE-SWITCHING AND SLANG USED BY GEN Z INDONESIANS ON SOCIAL MEDIA

Most social media active users are Gen Z Indonesians Z, who usually communicate with others on by switching their code to another or language and using slang. The switchover from Bahasa Indonesia other regional dialects English the use of slang have been dominated media, not limited words but also sentences. This study observes examines reasons that underlying perform code-switching slang, as well advantages disadvantages will arise. research method used is descriptive qualitative research. Data were collected journals, reports, books had written researchers analyzed content document analysis discourse analysis. found there some reasons, such convenience, referential functions like emphasizing precise message, affective functions, three a disadvantage in communication media.
